Jacob Salgado I'm met with light whenever I play this Favorite track: Candy.
BenPujara
BenPujara thumbnail
BenPujara A warm embrace of a voice, like Fiona Apple's croon dipped in caramel, and grooves as effortless as sinking into a sunset jacuzzi. Paxico Records brought me here, and I could not be more grateful. Favorite track: Untitled.
World of Echo
World of Echo thumbnail
World of Echo Light and breezy indie singer-songwriter EP. It's kinda like if you took those VH1 mid-aughts artists like Colbie Caillat (yes, I'm old) but then you mixed them with someone like Homeshake (but I'm not overly old? eh, whom I kidding).
DJ Sesqui

DJ Sesqui So sweet and needed in my poignant life’s transition.

Near simultaneously as she explored a deftly programmed interpretation of her fluttering folk, Kate Bollinger also began experimenting with a talented camaraderie of jazz musicians. She credits her band – comprised of Trainium, Chris Lewis, Jacob Grissom, and Jimmy Trussell – with unlocking the latent swing in her compositions, demonstrated on this summer’s delightful 'I Don’t Wanna Lose EP.' The collection’s genre-fluid charm has struck Bollinger some newfound playlist traction, without inviting cynicism that she’s some type of algorithm optimizing savant. Instead, she slots naturally onto every mood board simply because her music hits all the right notes: unhurried tempos, round-edged chord progressions, redolent yet winding melodies strung together emotively without losing their composure. The songs fall onto your ears like cool skin on a hot, sticky day, when the AC is broken but the company keeps you comfortably preoccupied. Yet none of the fancy new production or instrumental adornment undermine Bollinger’s core songwriting ability; no matter the material her words are printed on, the message holds together the medium.

People come and go, they’re all the same it seems I’ve got too many holes where lovers used to be Can’t be good for me, but I don’t like to be alone really Storm headed south, missed me by a couple miles I was almost in the mouth of trouble, I was excited I wanna be afraid of something again Either stick around until things fall apart, or you get the hell out of there early And wonder what could’ve been, I’m not saying I have a preference The worst thing you could do is leave, when I tell you, “just go” We both know I don’t wanna you to leave me alone The worst thing you could do is leave, when I tell you, “just go” Don’t listen to me, don’t listen to me no It’s not your job to apologize for things that hurt me, though I half expect you to know what will I thought getting older would make me strong And I’m tired, is it showing? I wanna change my temperament and change my mind, but it’s hard to do when I’m set on something And is that all, will you be going? I need a sense of urgency that I hope you’ve got, For you to call me back even when I tell you not to The worst thing you could do is leave, when I tell you, “just go” We both know I don’t wanna you to leave me alone The worst thing you could do is leave, when I tell you, “just go” Don’t listen to me, don’t listen to me no Don’t listen to me, don’t listen to me

If ever you feel cold I hope you’ll come on over I hope you’ll think of me Find comfort in the small things If ever you feel ordinary I hope you’ll think of what we’ve done I hope you’ll think of my heart and yours And think of all the big stuff You’re sweet like candy I knew it since you arrived You make for lighter landings I prepare for hard falls but am met with light every time You feel to me like fiction It never is quite real to me You match my best depiction Of dreams I hoped one day I might see I waited through the winter I hoped I’d catch some sign of spring You came into my purview Disrupted everything You’re sweet like candy I knew it since you arrived You make for lighter landings I prepare for hard falls but am met with light every time If we don’t match up every time If you leave me in the dark or outside If some days your heart is not as full as mine I will trust the beaten path to morning light And hope to meet you there in some time

Covered in things I should’ve thought of That I didn’t think of That I should have thought of So what if it’s all My decisions Or my indecision Oh I just can’t pick one You give me so much to be afraid of You give me so much to be afraid of There is so damn much that I’m afraid of You give me so much to be afraid of But I don’t wanna lose Yeah I just wanna win No I don’t wanna lose I just wanna win the war Swallowed my pride Packed up my things and went home early Not wrong to go home early Except that it steals your pride I was a child once I still am one I know it But I just turned twenty And I feel time slipping by You give me so much to be afraid of You give me so much to be afraid of There is so damn much that I’m afraid of You give me so much to be afraid of But I don’t wanna lose Yeah I just wanna win No I don’t wanna lose, no I just wanna win the war I just wanna win So I’ll know what I’ve been fighting for

Change my mind It’s easy to do But change my ways Only works when I have to All the times when I do the opposite All the times when I do what I shouldn’t Talk about it til I’m blue in the face Do nothing about it Go outside, take a walk Call my friends on the phone I stay quiet when I have too much to say Try not to count on it but I condemn the ones that make my same mistakes Do what I ask of you Do what I tell you to Do what I ask of you Do what I tell you to When I tell you to…
